The direct transfer of new research findings to society and police is ensured by close involvement in teaching and training events, so that police and security-related professional practice can benefit directly.
Research at the German Police University (DHPol) is based on the integrative approach of administrative and police science. It sees police as a core area of public security administration. This is in close interaction with social developments. Research is mainly focused on the following areas:
- Management, organisation and administration,
- operations management, traffic and communication, as well as
- Crime Investigation and Law.
These focal points are also reflected in the three DHPol departments.
